About Me

I grew up on a cattle farm in northern Idaho, and became a veterinarian in 2002. Over the years in practice, the heartbreak around end of life decision-making and the depth of grief experienced over the losses of pets have touched me profoundly. I am drawn to helping families and pets make the most of the cherished time remaining, and to have the gentlest of farewells when the time comes.

I often hear from people that my job must be very difficult. It’s certainly emotional, but it’s truly an honor to help. And I've gotten to witness many moments of beauty amidst the sadness, including clouds parting to allow the sun through as a pet is departing, cats disregarding their fears of strangers in order to be present with their fellow furry family members, and wildlife holding vigil in backyards.
